VENICE……when we hear this name we immediately think at a story of love… why?   Because Venice is the city of lovers, the city of peace and colour, of  Don Juan and gondolas….  The classical Venetian boat is the gondola, although it is now mostly used for tourists, or for weddings, funerals,or other ceremonies.

Venice is on of Italy’s  most popular tourist attraction as well as a major port on The Atlantic Sea. Venice is world-famous for its canals. It is built on an archipelago of 122 island formed by about 150 caals in a shallow lagoon. The islands on which the city is built are connected by about 400 bridges. In the old center, the canals serve the function of roads, and every form of transport is on water or on foot. Venice  is considered one of the most beautifull cities in the world. But how it couldn’t be considered like that?   The city buildings and decorations from byzantine style prove great artistic achievement.Venice is built on more than 100 islands , beeing known for its canals , which substitute the streets in many areas. The city streches across numerous small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northest Italy.

If you visit Venice    you should know which are the places worth to be visited . The centre and the most frequented part of the city is St Mark’s Square . At the eastern end are St Mark’s Cathedral and  Doge’s  Palace, which are the two most important and impressive  buidings in Venice. Along the two palaces and their extension , the Atrica of Fabbrica Nuova , extend it’s arcades  with cafees and shops. The most impressive feature of the city is The bell tower  of St Mark, which is about 31 metres high. It has been built between 874 and 1150,  but rebuilt after it collapsed in 1902. 300px-small_canal_-_venice.jpg The most important and most famous of the tree bridges spanning the Grand Canal , is the Rialta, lined with a double row of shops .The Grand Canal is lined with old palaces of the venetian aristocracy , among which are many  structures of great hystorical and architectural value.

If you will go to Venice you will see that  Venice isn’t just a city of freedom and fantasy   but of joy and pleasure as well. Is the perfect city for those who are in love.  What can be more romantic than a walk with a gondola among old palaces and buidings  that have been for ages, the witnesses of  many lovers  and couples.
